Prof. Dr. Armin Lühr

Prof. Dr. Armin Lühr works as Professor of Medical Physics at the Department of Physics at the TU Dortmund University in Dortmund, Germany. He heads the Lühr Group on Medical Physics and Radiotherapy, which has expertise in medical physics aspects of particle therapy, novel treatment approaches and translation to clinical application.

Several projects performed by the Lühr Group deal with advanced proton dose calculation and measurement, especially in magnetic fields, and MRI-guided proton therapy, where Monte Carlo and machine learning techniques play a central role. He is active in ESTRO’s European Particle Therapy Network (EPTN), where he also chairs work package 6 on RBE and Radiobiology.

Within DosiMagic, he supervises WP 4, focusing on the management of this multi-institutional project and the derivation of guidelines for dosimetry in particle therapy in combination with magnetic fields.
