Dr. Hugo Palmans is employed jointly by the Austrian ion therapy center MedAustron and the National Physical Laboratory in the United Kingdom. He is leading research on the development of improved dosimetry techniques for modern radiotherapy methods using small X-Ray beams, complex combinations of those, radioactive sources, and for developing radiotherapy methods using proton and carbon ion beams.
He will be leading the collaboration with NPL as well as contributing his expertise to the project, especially for metrology in WP 1 and WP 2 as well as concerning the theoretical dosimetry formalism in WP 4.
